Davenport Tureen
A stunning 19th-century blue and white tureen — an early piece by Davenport and absolutely full of history and charm. Decorated inside and out using the transferware technique (a hallmark of Victorian innovation during the Industrial Revolution), this tureen would have graced the table of a well-respected household.
It’s beautifully detailed, and while it’s seen a few bumps along the way — including a historic repair to a chip on the foot and a star crack on the side (both shown in the photos) — it still has so much presence. A little shabby, yes, but still completely fabulous and wonderfully decorative.
